A Roundfleet alternative with a US M6

Roundfleet rents dedicated Mac minis from a site in Toulouse, France. In October 2026 its pricing page listed an M4 with 16 GB and 256 GB at $99 a month. It also listed an M6 at $215, marked "Soon". MacRun has the M6 in stock in the US at $139 a month. Roundfleet is the better pick for a Mac in Europe or an M4 at a lower price.

A banner on the same page said "Mac Mini M6 on Roundfleet from €200/month" with first units on September 22, 2026. The table also shows an hourly rate for each plan. But the FAQ says the minimum allocation period is 1 month, because of license constraints. Extra storage is $17 a month for 1 TB or $28 for 2 TB, each with a $10 setup fee.

The home page says the Macs are hosted in Toulouse, France. It lists a fixed IPv4 address, full root access, and VNC and SSH. Roundfleet also has a client app for macOS, Windows and Linux. The FAQ says monthly plans can be cancelled at any moment.

What the 1 month minimum means

The hourly rates on Roundfleet's table are useful for comparing plans. In practice, the FAQ's 1 month minimum makes every plan a monthly plan. At $0.14 an hour, 730 hours is about $102, close to the $99 monthly price. MacRun is monthly too, so the two compare month for month.

Who should choose Roundfleet

  • You are in Europe. Toulouse is a short hop for most of the EU. MacRun is in New Jersey.
  • You want an M4 at a low price. Roundfleet's M4-S is $99. Our M4 is a pre-order at $119.
  • You need a fixed public IPv4 address on the Mac.
  • You want to add 1 or 2 TB of extra storage to a base machine.
  • You want to pay in euros.

Where MacRun is different

The M6 is available now. MacRun's M6 has a 12-core CPU, 16 GB and 256 GB, the same as Roundfleet's listed M6. Ours is $139 a month against $215 listed. Under the launch offer the first month is $69.

It comes ready for Apple development. Xcode 26.6 is installed and opened once. The iOS 26.5 simulator runtime is installed. The GitHub Actions runner software is preinstalled. You get full administrator access for anything else. A new Mac is ready 1 to 4 hours after payment.

For AI coding agents, the agent plan is $169 a month, $84 for the first month. Claude Code and Codex are installed. You sign in with your own Claude or ChatGPT plan. The desktop opens in a browser tab, so you install no client app.

The numbers are public. A clean build of the Wikipedia iOS app took 86 seconds on our M6. A GitHub-hosted macos-26 runner took 183 seconds. Per-machine uptime is live on our status page.

What you get on day one

Roundfleet's FAQ says an M4 is available in less than 5 minutes and runs macOS Sequoia 15 by default. You connect with VNC and SSH or its client app, then install your own tools. A MacRun M6 runs macOS 27 and takes 1 to 4 hours. In that time we install Xcode 26.6, open it once, add the iOS 26.5 simulator runtime and place the GitHub Actions runner software. If you need a Mac in five minutes, Roundfleet is faster. If you want it ready to build, ours is.

The two M6 listings over a year

Both list a 12-core M6 with 16 GB and 256 GB. At the listed $215, a year of Roundfleet's M6 would cost $2,580. A year of MacRun's M6, with the launch month, costs $1,598. Roundfleet lists 10 Gbps networking. Each MacRun Mac has wired gigabit ethernet, and the fleet shares one business fiber line.

Distance cuts both ways. A runner only needs an outbound HTTPS connection to GitHub, per GitHub's docs, so CI works from either side of the Atlantic. Screen sharing does not. Pick the Mac closest to the people who will look at its screen.

What MacRun does not offer

  • No European location.
  • No static or public IP. Access is over private Tailscale.
  • No storage add-ons on the M6.
  • No SLA and no free trial.
