Cloud Macs for AI agents, compared

An AI agent needs a Mac that never sleeps, and usually admin rights to install its tools. We compared seven services that rent a whole Mac. The cheapest month was an M4 at $80 from Macyou, paid in crypto and without admin rights. The cheapest day was $14 at My Remote Mac, for an M4. MacRun rents an M6 at $169 a month as an agent Mac, or $15 a day. Of the pages we read, only MacRun said Claude Code and Codex come installed.

How we compared

Prices read from each provider's site on October 15, 2026. We took the cheapest whole Mac each one listed, plus its day and week price if it sold one. We noted admin rights, what an agent finds installed, and where the Macs are. If a page did not say, the table says "not listed". Prices change often, so check before you buy.

Provider by provider

  • MacRent sells one price for every model: $15 a day, $89 a week or $159 a month. You get an M4 or an M6, whichever is free. It lists a static IP. Its Claude Code and OpenClaw pages tell you to install them yourself. Every plan showed "Sold out" on October 15.
  • My Remote Mac rents an M4 for $85 a month or $14 a day. Its M6 is $149 a month or $22 a day. Prices are before tax. It includes public IPv4 and IPv6 addresses and lists a 99.9% uptime SLA. It sells no weekly plan. It also rents an M4 Pro and a Mac Pro.
  • RentaMac rents an M4 for $119 a month, $59 a week or $19 a day. The M6 is $139, $69 or $24. You pick Cyprus, Texas or India. The M6 showed sold out in Texas.
  • Macly lists one Mac, an M4 with 16 GB, for $119.99 a month, $49.99 a week or $14.99 a day. Its OpenClaw page has you install OpenClaw yourself.
  • Macyou starts at $80 a month for an M4 and $105 for an M6. The M6 is on request, with a waitlist. It bills monthly or yearly, never by the day. You pay in USDT crypto only. Your account is a standard macOS user, and an operator installs system software on request. It offers preset stacks such as OpenClaw, and Mac Studios with up to 256 GB.
  • MacinCloud's dedicated plan, with admin rights, was $114.99 a month for an M1 with 8 GB. Its checkout said all platforms were sold out. Its shared plan, an account on an M4 with 16 GB, was $39 a month or $29.50 a week, without admin rights. It lists ten regions.

How to choose

  • Admin rights. Agents install tools with Homebrew and change system settings. Without admin rights, you wait for an operator.
  • Always on. The Mac must not sleep, and the agent must come back after a reboot. Ask how the login session returns.
  • Stock. Three of these showed sold out plans on October 15. A price you cannot order does not help.
  • Length. For one job, a day or week plan beats a month. The cheapest M6 week we found was MacRun at $59.
  • Network. If other people must reach the Mac, you need a public IP. An agent that only calls out to the internet does not.
  • Payment and terms. Card or crypto, refunds, and whether a plan renews on its own.

Where MacRun fits and where it does not

MacRun rents a dedicated M6 Mac mini with 16 GB. The agent plan is $169 a month, and the first month is $84. A day is $15 and a week is $59, paid once, and nothing renews. Claude Code and Codex come installed, sleep is off, and the desktop opens in a browser tab. You have admin rights. The Macs are in our own private facility in New Jersey.

OpenClaw and other personal assistant agents are allowed on the agent plan, for your own accounts. Every Mac shares one internet address, so bulk or unsolicited messages are not allowed.

Others beat us on several points. My Remote Mac and Macyou cost less for an M4 by the month. Macly is cheaper for an M4 by the week. MacinCloud, RentaMac and MacRent have more locations. My Remote Mac includes public IPs and an SLA, and MacRent lists a static IP. Macyou and My Remote Mac rent bigger Macs. We have one location, no static IP, no SLA and no free trial.
