A MyRemoteMac alternative, compared honestly
My Remote Mac (myremotemac.com) lists an M4 Mac mini from $85 a month and an M6 from $149. Both come with a public IP and a 99.9% uptime SLA. We read that on its pricing page in October 2026. MacRun's M6 is $139 a month, with a $69 first month. My Remote Mac is cheaper on the M4 and offers an IP and an SLA that we do not.

Who should choose My Remote Mac
- You want the lowest M4 price. Their M4 is $85. Ours is $119 as a pre-order.
- You need a public static IP, for webhooks, allowlists or a service other people connect to.
- Your contract requires an uptime SLA. MacRun has none.
- You want a yearly plan. Paying a year ahead gets one month free.
- You need a large machine. They list an M4 Pro with 64 GB and 4 TB, and a Mac Pro with M2 Ultra.
- Your team prefers a site and support in a language other than English.
Do you need a static IP or an SLA?
Many teams assume they need a public IP. For CI they usually do not. GitHub's docs say a self-hosted runner connects out to GitHub over HTTPS on port 443 to receive jobs. Nothing has to connect in. You do need a public IP if other people or services must reach the Mac directly. A vendor that allowlists your address is another case.
An SLA is a contract term with credits when uptime falls short. If a customer contract requires one from your suppliers, choose My Remote Mac. MacRun has no SLA. We publish live uptime for every machine on our status page instead, so you can judge the record yourself.
Where MacRun is different
On the M6, MacRun is $10 a month less at list price, $139 against $149. The launch offer makes the first month $69. Both are 12-core M6 machines with 16 GB and 256 GB.
Our Mac is set up for iOS before you arrive. Xcode 26.6 is installed and opened once. The iOS 26.5 simulator runtime is installed. The GitHub Actions runner software is preinstalled, so the Mac can take jobs within minutes of you logging in. You have full sudo.
The agent plan is built for coding agents. It is $169 a month, $84 for the first month. Claude Code and Codex are installed. You sign in with your own Claude or ChatGPT plan, so we charge no token fees. The session survives reboots. The desktop opens in a browser tab from our portal, and you can steer the agent from your phone.
We publish a benchmark you can check. A clean build of the Wikipedia iOS app took 86 seconds on our M6. A GitHub-hosted macos-26 runner took 183 seconds. A typical CI job after a small change took 27 seconds on a warm M6.
What MacRun does not offer
- No static IP. Access is over a private Tailscale network.
- No SLA of any kind. Live uptime is public on /status.
- No annual plan discount on the M6 launch offer.
- No Mac Pro, and no M6 with more than 16 GB.
