Rent a Mac for a day

What you get

• A physical M6 Mac mini with 16 GB memory and a 256 GB SSD, for you alone.
• Administrator access, with sudo and Homebrew.
• macOS 27 and Xcode 26.6 installed, with the iOS 26.5 simulator ready.
• SSH and screen sharing over a private Tailscale network.
• The same machine as our monthly plan, in our own private facility in New Jersey.

What fits in a day

• Ship one release from Windows or Linux. Archive, sign and upload to App Store Connect. Our guide to publishing an iOS app without a Mac lists every step.
• Fix a bug that only shows in Safari or in the iOS Simulator.
• Build the iOS side of a React Native or Flutter app when CI is not enough.
• Take App Store screenshots in the Simulator.
• Try a new Xcode or macOS version without changing your own Mac.
• Test a Mac before you commit to a month.

How it works

• Choose 1 to 6 days or 1 to 4 weeks on the signup page, and pay by card through Stripe.
• Within 5 minutes we email how to connect.
• Connect with SSH for the terminal and screen sharing for the desktop. The setup docs show each step.
• 6 hours before the end, we email you. You can add a day or a week from your portal. Your files stay where they are.
• When the time is up, we remove your access and wipe the Mac.

From about 5 days, the first month costs less than daily rental. If you think you will need the Mac for longer, start with a month and cancel from the portal.

Day rental prices compared

We read these prices from each provider's own pricing page on October 12, 2026. AWS comes from instances.vantage.sh, and its day is the hourly rate times 24. Check the pages again before you buy.

Scaleway is the cheapest if you are in Europe and can set up the Mac yourself. AWS fits a team that already runs on AWS. MacinCloud's pay as you go plan is a standard account on a shared Mac, without admin rights. A MacRun day is a whole Mac in the US with Xcode already installed, and it cannot bill you again by accident.

Why not by the hour?

Apple's macOS license lets a Mac be leased to one customer for at least 24 hours in a row. That is why AWS and Scaleway charge a 24 hour minimum, and why our shortest rental is a day. Our post on the license quotes the section.

Before your time runs out

The wipe is complete. Copy off anything you want to keep, such as your project, an exported archive or your signing certificate. Your code signing identity belongs to your Apple account, so you can create it again on any Mac, but a backup saves time.

Who should not rent a Mac for a day

• You need a Mac on your desk. We do not ship hardware.
• You need a Mac for an hour or two. The minimum is a day.
• You need a Mac all month. The monthly plan costs less.
• Your work is not software development, such as video editing. Apple's license does not allow it.
• You are far from the US East Coast and will live in the desktop all day.
